We are seeking an experienced Pre-Sales & AV Design Engineer to join our team. As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for all aspects of designing functional audiovisual and collaboration systems based on customer needs and requirements. You will work closely with Account Executives and customers directly to determine scope of work, bill of materials (BOM) and labor estimates. Through continuing education, maintain working knowledge and applications of current AV and collaboration technology. In addition, work closely with project managers and technicians to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality AV solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct site surveys to assess technical requirements and determine optimal system placement
• Design and engineer complete, working systems, including writing functional scopes of work using Fusion Digital’s (FD) scope templates
• Specify all hardware, bill of materials (BOM) and professional services, including outsourced service needs, for a complete, working system
• Support sales’ customer facing efforts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ensure customer understanding of scope of work
• Create design phase and for-construction signal flow drawings, rack and floorplan elevations, including any necessary mechanical, electric and data requirements
• Provide details needed for fabrication and installation of audio, video, and control systems, including any specific configuration and programming instructions
• Collaborate with the Project Management Office (PMO) to develop project plans and timelines, assist with project complexity and resource allocation questions
• Provide input during internal project kickoff to installation and programming resources. Act as technical resource to field technical staff as needed during installation phase
• Provide technical support during system installation and troubleshooting if needed
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in audio visual technology. Participate in evaluating, selecting and recommending new technologies on an ongoing basis
• Continually seek feedback and analyze post project reporting in an effort to maintain proposal accuracy
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Abilities:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an AV Design Engineer or similar role
• Strong knowledge of AV equipment
• Experience with computer networking and integration of AV systems into network environments
• Familiarity with sales processes and ability to provide technical support during pre-sales activities
• Knowledge of programming languages and customization of AV systems
• Technical sales experience is highly desirable
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to maintain varying pace of work
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to details
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed
• Some out-of-town travel may be required

Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
